What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
If you contact us via a form on our website (as opposed to a direct email), then we capture your name, email address, and the reason for the contact so we can provide the best customer service possible. If you are interested in attending one of our workshops, we will capture your name, email address, and your workshop preferences so we can let you know when a workshop is scheduled. After you submit your information and we contact you, we may collect additional information about you such as your country, city, state, and time zone, so we know which courses will apply to your situation.
We will keep this information indefinitely so that we can contact you when a course is scheduled and open. We may also use this information to send special offers to you, someone who is interested in a workshop.
We collect your name and email address via this site so that we can keep in touch with you. We send informative and inspiring newsletters, eGuides, and other downloads. From time to time, we send product/service updates and special offers to our Sunday Dinner Stories community. We hate SPAM and send only high-quality information that helps you get to know who we are and how we might be able to help you stay connected with all generations of your family forever.
Who we share your data with
We do NOT share your information with any affiliates or partners. We only share information with a third-party when an application requires the data to help us manage our site appropriately.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Google Analytics stores technical information for 38 months.
What rights you have over your data
If you have subscribed to our newsletter, have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Your contact information
You may contact us via Info@SundayDinnerStories.com.
How we protect your data
We know how important your personal data is. In fact, our founder worked in the data management and data security areas of information technology for 25 years. We use strong passwords for our online applications. We use two-factor authentication whenever available. We educate our staff to lock their workstations when they are away from their desks. We also ensure that third-parties that store data on our behalf are GDPR compliant.
What data breach procedures we have in place
If we learned that our subscriber data had been breached, we would ensure that our subscribers were contacted immediately to explain the breach. We would also focus on the root cause and work with our third party application partners (e.g., WordPress and Mailchimp) to prevent a future breach.
What third parties we receive data from
We do not receive data from third parties at this time.
